Polish FA: Full preparation for U-20 Women's World Cup, believes boycott will be avoided

The Polish Football Association (PZPN) stated it is fully preparing to host the 2026 Under-20 Women's World Cup as scheduled from September 5-27, despite a growing boycott threat from European nations. The crisis stems from FIFA's proposal to sell a large minority stake in a new company that would run its main competitions, including the World Cup. UEFA, along with its 55 member associations, unanimously rejected the plan and threatened to boycott FIFA tournaments. PZPN general secretary Lukasz Wachowski expressed confidence that the standoff will be resolved swiftly, allowing the tournament to proceed. Concacaf and the Asian Football Confederation have also voiced opposition to FIFA's proposal, which requires approval by September 19 from a majority of FIFA's 211 member associations and the FIFA Council.
