Lyon signs Austrian center-back Felix Bacher from Estoril for €5M

Ligue 1 club Lyon has officially announced the signing of Austrian center-back Felix Bacher from Portuguese Primeira Liga side Estoril. The 25-year-old, who stands 1.90 meters tall, joins for a fixed fee of €4.3 million plus up to €800,000 in performance-related bonuses. His contract runs until June 30, 2031. Estoril will also receive 12.5% of any future resale profit. Bacher began his career at Wacker Innsbruck, later played for Freiburg and WSG Tirol in Austria, and joined Estoril in 2024, where he made 58 appearances and scored 4 goals over two seasons. Last season, he played every minute of Estoril's league matches. He is a former Austria U20 international and becomes Lyon's sixth signing of the summer. Lyon stated they will continue scouting promising players from the Portuguese league. Bacher expressed ambition and gratitude, saying he aims to be a leader and give 100% effort for the club and its fans.
