SportsHull City are in negotiations to sign 18-year-old Australian defender Lucas Herrington from MLS side Colorado Rapids, though no agreement has been reached yet. Herrington, who moved to Colorado from Brisbane Roar before the 2026 MLS season, has a contract with the Rapids until 2029 with an option for an additional year. The teenager made his senior international debut for Australia in March and was named to their 2026 World Cup squad, starting matches against Paraguay and Egypt. He missed a decisive penalty in the shootout against Egypt, drawing criticism. Barcelona previously had an opening bid rejected, and Liverpool scouts have also monitored him. Herrington has made 17 MLS appearances this season. Hull City were promoted to the Premier League via the Championship play-offs last season and will play in the top flight for the first time since 2016-17.
