TechThe U.S. Army conducted a week-long simulation exercise in May 2026 at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, bringing together aviators and engineers to test virtual versions of the MV-75 Cheyenne tiltrotor aircraft's cockpit. Pilots provided feedback on the display system and cognitive workload, leading to design changes including adjusted display symbols, improved menu navigation, and grouping power and performance data together. The MV-75, named in honor of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe, is designed for Pacific theater operations and is expected to be fielded by the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade in 2027. The evaluation aims to prepare pilots for future battlespaces defined by drones and data-intensive operations.
