Sony and Marvel's 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' starring Tom Holland has set a new domestic box office preview record with $72 million in ticket sales, surpassing the previous record held by 'Avengers: Endgame' ($60 million). The film is expected to earn approximately $270 million domestically over its debut weekend, potentially surpassing 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' ($260 million) but remaining behind 'Endgame' ($357 million). The movie benefited from Wednesday early access and Thursday night previews, though it lacks IMAX screenings due to those screens being reserved for Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey.' Premium large format screenings (ScreenX, 4DX, Dolby Cinema) contributed significantly, with ScreenX alone generating $1.8 million in Thursday sales.
