SportsUSMNT midfielder Gio Reyna, 23, is in negotiations to transfer from Borussia Monchengladbach to Strasbourg, according to sources briefed on the situation. Reyna spent only one season at Gladbach, making 19 Bundesliga appearances and scoring one goal. The move would be his fourth club in as many seasons. Strasbourg, owned by BlueCo (the Todd Boehly/Clearlake Capital consortium that also owns Chelsea), finished eighth in Ligue 1 last season. Reyna has struggled with injuries and playing time, logging just over 500 Bundesliga minutes in 2025-26. Despite limited club minutes, USMNT coach Mauricio Pochettino selected him for the 2026 World Cup, where he scored a goal against Paraguay but played only 131 minutes across five games. Reyna was once considered the top US prospect but has been hampered by muscle injuries since his breakout 2020-21 season at Dortmund, where he played nearly 2,000 minutes.
