SportsReal Madrid defender Raúl Asensio, 23, will stand trial in September on charges of disseminating private sexual images, including a video involving a minor. Despite both victims withdrawing accusations against him, a judge ruled the trial will proceed on September 3, 4, and 7 on Gran Canaria. Asensio faces two counts under Spain's Criminal Code for allegedly requesting and sharing a video filmed without consent during a June 2023 encounter at a beach club. He is not accused of participating in or filming the incident. Three former Real Madrid youth teammates—Ferran Ruiz, Juan Rodríguez, and Andrés García—are also charged with filming and distributing the content. The judge rejected defense attempts to exclude evidence, noting defendants backed up and deleted content before arrest. Prosecutors seek a 2.5-year prison sentence for Asensio. Both victims have reportedly developed PTSD. Asensio maintains his innocence, stating he committed no crime against women's sexual freedom.
