TechThe U.S. Army conducted a week-long exercise in May 2026 at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, where pilots tested virtual versions of the MV-75 Cheyenne tiltrotor aircraft's cockpit. The goal was to gather aviator feedback on the display system and cognitive workload before the aircraft's first flight and delivery to the 101st Airborne Division in 2027. Pilots from UH-60 and CH-47 backgrounds noted significant differences from current cockpits and collaborated to recommend changes. Army and Bell engineers have already begun incorporating feedback, including adjusting display symbols, improving menu navigation, and grouping power and performance data together. The evaluation is part of preparations for future battlespaces with drones and data-heavy environments.
