Met Police: No further action over Green Party leader's Nigel Farage guillotine post

The Metropolitan Police has confirmed it will take no further action against Green Party leader Zack Polanski after he reposted an Instagram collaboration containing an image of a man wearing a t-shirt with a guillotine and the lyrics 'we're only making plans for Nigel,' widely interpreted as targeting Nigel Farage. Polanski deleted the post after Reform UK reported it to police. Farage argued that a political leader sharing such imagery should face consequences. However, the Met Police stated the sharing did not meet the threshold for a criminal offence, acknowledging the context of increasing threats to politicians. Avon and Somerset Police, investigating the original wearing of the t-shirt in Bristol, also concluded no crime was committed, citing the satirical nature and lack of intent to threaten. The Green Party accused Reform of using the incident as a 'political football,' while Reform UK claimed it demonstrated 'two-tier Britain.'
