SportsLens midfielder Mamadou Sangaré, a revelation of the Ligue 1 season, is in very advanced transfer negotiations with English Premier League club Brentford. The 24-year-old Malian, bought for €5M plus bonuses last summer from Rapid Vienna, could be sold for a record €48M, surpassing the €40M Lens received for Lois Openda in 2023. Crystal Palace, now coached by former Lens manager Pierre Sage, has also entered the race and could raise the bid. As of Tuesday evening, no deal was finalized, but an agreement is nearing. Sangaré's potential sale would be the largest in RC Lens' history.
