SportsOlympique Lyonnais has officially announced the arrival of Belgian international striker Loïs Openda on a paid loan from Juventus for the 2026 season. The 26-year-old forward joins for a loan fee of €3.5 million, with Juventus covering part of his salary (approximately €3 million net per season). Openda, who previously impressed at Lens (21 goals in 42 matches) and RB Leipzig (33 goals in 69 Bundesliga games), struggled at Juventus last season, scoring only two goals in 34 appearances. Lyon, which made signing a number 9 a priority, aims to strengthen its squad ahead of the Champions League third qualifying round against Sparta Prague. The Belgian international has 33 caps and three goals for his national team.
