SportsMiddlesbrough have signed USA international midfielder Sebastian Berhalter from Vancouver Whitecaps for an undisclosed fee on a four-year contract. The 25-year-old scored 20 goals in 167 appearances for the MLS club and featured in all five of the USA's games at the 2026 World Cup. Berhalter, born in London while his father Gregg played for Crystal Palace, could make his debut for Kim Hellberg's side in the Carabao Cup first-round tie against Wrexham on August 7. He expressed his desire to continue improving as a player and person at Middlesbrough.
