An Island of Healing Amid the Protest
The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests continued at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, on July 24, 2026. Amid the sea of people and the bustling dissent, one group quietly focuses on a single task: service.
Doctors at the protest site told The Hindu that everything in the camp — including medicines and the tent itself — has been set up through donations.
"There are people here who had flown in from Milan. I have flown in from Chennai. He has flown in from Kerala. People have come here from the UK, Australia, Finland. We are here to show that we are here when it matters for our country," said Dr. F, 27, from Chennai.
"The whole point of this organized, peaceful protest is, first accountability. Second, why is the Modi government hell bent on privatizing everything," said Dr. S., 36, who had worked in the Lakhimpur Kheri farm protests in 2021.
Soon they were back to work. The healing continued.
