Osasuna beats Ipswich 2-1 in preseason friendly, stays unbeaten

Osasuna played tonight in England the first of two matches scheduled during their training camp on English soil. They faced Ipswich, a team newly promoted to the Premier League. Manager Ramis chose to alternate theoretical starters with substitutes and young players from the reserve team who are participating in preseason with the first team.

First Half: Strong Start and Early Lead

The reds started strong, taking control of the match and creating danger. In the fourth minute, young reserve player Miguel Auría capitalized on a rebound from the English goalkeeper off a shot by Barja, following a well-constructed play, to put the Navarrese ahead.

Ramis's team looked comfortable and pressed effectively, with Ipswich struggling to escape their own half. As the minutes passed, the English side managed to shake off the initial pressure but failed to create clear chances, thanks to the defensive solidity of the visitors.

Osasuna pushed for more. In the 28th minute, after a pass from Barja, Moncayola could have scored following a good run. Fatawu also tried without success. The English pressed in the final minutes of the first half, but Ramis's team delivered a strong performance, showing themselves as a solid unit. Auría's goal sent them into halftime with the lead.

Second Half: Ipswich Equalizes, Osasuna Responds

For the second half, Ramis opted to change practically the entire starting eleven. The home team came out looking for the equalizer, creating danger and forcing Aitor Fernández to make a fine save. The English persistence paid off when, after a mistake by the reds, Chuba Akpon leveled the score in the 53rd minute.

Osasuna were much more imprecise than in the first half and looked uncomfortable both with and without the ball. Ramis's team tried, but it was Ipswich who controlled the match.

Late Winner Secures Victory

Osasuna attempted to push forward but struggled to create clear chances. However, in the 79th minute, after a free kick from Rubén García, Raúl Moro scored a great goal into the top corner, putting the visitors ahead once again. The reds regained their composure and managed to secure the victory, a fair result that keeps them unbeaten in preseason.
