BTS Jimin's World Cup final halftime shirt sells for $110,000, matching price of final match ball

A shirt worn by Jimin of BTS during the 2026 World Cup final halftime show and a match ball from the final itself each sold for $110,000 at a FIFA charity auction, tying as the top-selling items in a collection of tournament memorabilia.

The auction, titled “One Goal: An Auction to Benefit the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund,” was held by Christie’s Auction House and ran for one week, closing Wednesday. It raised a total of $652,630, far exceeding initial projections.

According to a Christie’s press release, bidders from 24 nations participated in the online sale.

“The memorabilia market is so strong right now, and rare is the occasion that people can bid on things so freshly off the pitch,” said Elizabeth Seigel, head of private and iconic collections at Christie’s, shortly after the auction began.

BTS Items Dominate the Auction

Items worn by members of BTS, the K-pop group that performed “Dynamite” during the halftime intermission, collectively sold for $300,300 — accounting for 46 percent of the auction’s total revenue.

• Scarf worn by V — $46,200
• Jacket worn by Jung Kook — $46,200
• Pants worn by Suga — $33,000
• Gloves worn by J-Hope — $28,600
• Boots worn by RM — $19,800
• Belt worn by Jin — $16,500

Additional high-profile items sold at auction included:

• Signed Lionel Messi 2026 Argentina home jersey, gifted to Shakira — $66,000
• Fingerless goalkeeper gloves worn and signed by Madonna during her opening set — $41,800
• “Skylrk” sneakers worn by Justin Bieber during his acoustic set of “Everything Hallelujah” — $26,400
• A setlist of the performances and Chris Martin’s handwritten lyrics of “One Dance” — performed by Coldplay, The Muppets, “Sesame Street” characters, Emmanuel Kelly, and PS22 Chorus to close the halftime show — $15,400
• Shakira’s outfit from the music video for “Dai Dai,” the official World Cup song also performed at the halftime show — $8,240

“Chris Martin was so involved in the production of the halftime show; it was his idea and inspiration, and his curation brought together these global artists,” Seigel said of the Coldplay frontman.

Beneficiary and Impact

Proceeds from the sales will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative aiming to raise $100 million to expand access to quality education and soccer for children in underserved communities, supporting grassroots programs across 200 countries.

“This is a wonderful win for an important cause. Competition in our auction was as global and fierce as it was on the World Cup soccer pitch,” Julien Pradels, president of Christie’s Americas, said in a statement.
