BTS's track 'Normal,' released as a single from their album 'Arirang' in mid-July 2026, has returned to multiple UK charts at No. 1. The song re-enters the Official Singles Sales chart and the Official Singles Downloads chart at the top position, marking the band's seventh and eighth No. 1s on those respective lists. 'Normal' also re-enters the main Official Singles chart at No. 36, a new peak, becoming the third song from 'Arirang' to reach the top 40 after 'Swim' (peaked at No. 2) and 'Body to Body' (No. 28). Despite the single's success, the album 'Arirang' itself declined on all four UK album charts it appears on. The lead single 'Swim' continues to perform well, climbing on the Official Physical Singles chart.
Source report
A little more than four months after BTS returned from a years-long hiatus, the K-pop group is seeing new chart success in the United Kingdom with "Normal," the second official single from their album Arirang.
The band spent months building anticipation for Arirang, though they released no music from the project — not even a single — before the album became available in full. For much of its promotional campaign, the album was buoyed by lead single "Swim." BTS formally pushed "Normal" as the second single in mid-July, accompanied by its own music video.
ARMY, the group's global fanbase, has turned the track into a bestseller in the U.K., helping it return to multiple charts at new peaks.
BTS Returns to No. 1 on the U.K. Singles Sales Chart
"Normal" reenters the Official Singles Sales chart at No. 1, making it the bestselling track in the U.K. across digital and physical formats. The song originally debuted at No. 35 in early April before disappearing. This week marks only the second time it has appeared on the competitive roster.
"Normal" gives BTS its 18th top 10 hit and seventh No. 1 on the list.
BTS's No. 1 hits on the Official Singles Sales chart:
- "Butter"
- "Dynamite"
- "Life Goes On"
- "My Universe" (with Coldplay)
- "Normal"
- "On"
- "Swim"
BTS Also Leads the U.K. Downloads Chart
The same track returns at No. 1 on the Official Singles Downloads chart. It is common for one title to lead both of the U.K.'s purchase-focused songs rankings, especially when a motivated fan base supports a particular song.
"Normal" has spent only two weeks on the list of the most-downloaded tracks in the country. It debuted at No. 33 in April.
BTS has racked up eight No. 1s and 19 total top 10s on the Official Singles Downloads tally.
BTS's No. 1 hits on the Official Singles Downloads chart:
- "Butter"
- "Come Over"
- "Dynamite"
- "Life Goes On"
- "My Universe" (with Coldplay)
- "Normal"
- "On"
- "Swim"
BTS Reaches the Main Songs Tally's Top 40 With "Normal"
Thanks to a massive increase in sales, "Normal" also returns to the Official Singles chart, the U.K.'s main songs ranking that incorporates both purchases and streams. The tune's resurgence across sales-focused lists helps it return at No. 36.
That position marks a new high for "Normal" and brings it into the top 40 for the first time. The song debuted at No. 74 in April, one week after it first appeared on both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads charts, and then quickly disappeared.
BTS Scores a Third Top 40 Win From Arirang
"Normal" is the third song from Arirang to reach the top 40 on the Official Singles chart. "Swim" remains the album's highest-charting track by a wide margin, peaking at No. 2 — nearly giving BTS its first champion on the country's main songs ranking. Both "Dynamite" and "Butter" previously stalled at No. 3.
Fan favorite "Body to Body" also reached the top 40 for a short time, surging to No. 28.
BTS's Arirang Declines on Four Charts
Somewhat surprisingly, even as "Normal" becomes a bigger hit than ever, Arirang loses ground on every albums ranking on which it appears this week. The full-length lives on four U.K. charts and declines on all of them. It remains inside the top 40 on half of those registers — the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums charts.
BTS's "Swim" Remains a Strong Seller as Well
"Swim" also continues to perform well in the U.K. The Arirang lead single climbs 10 spaces from No. 62 to No. 52 on the Official Physical Singles chart.
