OtherThe U.S. Air Force clarified that waist-to-height ratio measurements submitted by active-duty airmen by July 31 will not be scored in physical fitness assessments or affect test currency or personnel actions. The requirement is a one-time biometric data collection to establish a baseline for the modernized Physical Fitness Readiness Program, which took effect July 1. The modernization aligns with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's push for stricter fitness and grooming standards across the military. Airmen who completed measurements during the diagnostic period (March 1-June 30) do not need to reassess. Exemptions apply to those with full medical exemptions, pregnancy/postpartum exemptions, or approved retirement/separation within 12 months. Reservists have until August 31 to comply. Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Ken Wilsbach emphasized the goal is ensuring warfighters are fit, ready, and prioritizing long-term health.
