Player Reaction
"It's a pride, it's an extreme happiness to be able to continue representing this club, which is also the club of my heart, and I'm very happy, very pleased and grateful to the club for this opportunity," she said in statements to BTV.
"It's been a long relationship. I've been here at this house for a few years now and I've really enjoyed it, so that's why I'm so happy and so proud to be able to continue representing this club," she stated.
Future Ambitions
"This was one of the steps I wanted to achieve, and now I have other steps I want to reach, and I'll work for that," she assured.
Among the goals she sets for the future is making her mark with the first team: "To be able to go train with the A team and, in the future, to make my debut with it."
Sacrifices and Rewards
The journey to this moment required many sacrifices, but the young Benfica player believes all the effort was worth it.
"It's a happiness to be able to look back and see that, in a way, all the efforts I made to be here are being rewarded," she highlighted, adding: "It was tough, obviously. Often training at times when, perhaps, we already wanted to be at home resting with family, and we had to keep training, but we always know that in the youth system, we have to go through that sacrifice to reach the big stages of the A team."
Pre-Season with the First Team
Doing pre-season with the first team, she admitted: "I can confess that I'm a bit nervous, I wasn't expecting it, but very happy to be doing pre-season with the A team and to be able to keep evolving and have other rhythms I wasn't used to yet."
"They welcomed me well. I had already gone to do a training session there last season, I already knew some [players], also others from the youth system who are already there, so they all welcomed me very well," she revealed.
Playing Style
Finally, the young defender described the characteristics she considers differentiating in her game.
"I'm an intelligent player, I read the game well, I can anticipate plays several times, which is important for my position, and I think I'm a communicative player."
