SportsWolverhampton Wanderers striker Tolu Arokodare has joined Dutch Eredivisie side Ajax on a season-long loan for the 2026-27 season, with Ajax holding an option to make the transfer permanent next summer. The 25-year-old Nigeria international moved to Wolves from Genk in a £24m deal in September 2025 but struggled in the Premier League, scoring only three goals in 33 games as Wolves were relegated to the Championship. Arokodare recently made headlines after reportedly refusing to leave the pitch during a training session, which he denied, stating he has always maintained professional standards. He was also disciplined in April following a confrontation with teammate Mateus Mane. Ajax finished fifth in the Eredivisie last season and will compete in the Europa Conference League if they advance through the play-offs.
