Senegalese striker Amadou has left Spanish club Sporting Gijón on loan to Associação Académica de Coimbra, a team in the Portuguese Second Division, with a future purchase option included. Summer Transfer Activity

- FC Karpaty Lviv (Ukrainian Premier League) was the first club to inquire. The interest was led by former Albacete striker Román Zozulya, who pushed for the signing. However, the loan was halted due to bureaucratic procedures and financial differences.
- Real Avilés also emerged as a strong candidate, requesting the striker's loan. The operation lost momentum due to financial differences between what the Asturian club was willing to pay for the player's salary and the amounts demanded by Sporting.
With both alternatives ruled out, Académica took the lead and closed the agreement with the player and the club.
Contract and Future
Amadou's bet on Sporting last summer materialized in November with his official renewal until 2029. However, his on-pitch performance has not met expectations, leading those at Mareo to analyze the market and explore options for the striker.
Académica OAF ultimately secured the rights to the player, where he will play next season. The Portuguese club holds the option to acquire the full services of the striker if they so decide.
