The Tactical Problem

The Two Key Systems
1. Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) Containerized Launcher

- Replaces the boxy M903 vehicles that have carried Patriot missiles for decades
- Allows any sufficiently powerful truck to transport and deploy the launcher at improvised locations

Integration with IBCS
Both systems connect into the Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) , the Army's networked air defense architecture. IBCS allows a missile fired from one launcher to be guided using radar and sensor data collected elsewhere on the battlefield.
The Army first proved this networked approach in a successful PAC-3 MSE engagement using IBCS in 2021. The system has since moved into full-rate production and has been operationally fielded with allied forces in Poland.
Development Plan
Work under the Phase 2 award is divided into eight separate development increments:
- Five increments covering the containerized launcher
- Three increments covering the RIG-360 system
