FinanceIntermountain Health, a nonprofit regional health system based in Salt Lake City, is fully acquiring two hospitals and over 60 clinics in southeast Idaho from Surgery Partners in a deal valued at nearly $1.2 billion. The facilities, Mountain View Hospital and Idaho Falls Community Hospital, along with their affiliated clinics, have been co-owned by Intermountain, Surgery Partners, and local physicians since 2023. Surgery Partners expects to net approximately $800 million from the transaction, which aligns with its strategy to divest capital-intensive hospital assets and focus on ambulatory surgery centers. The deal requires approval from Mountain View Hospital's physician governing board and other closing conditions. Last year, the two hospitals generated around $740 million in revenue and $100 million in EBITDA. Intermountain, which operates 34 hospitals and 400 clinics across six states, continues to expand through acquisitions and joint ventures.
