Sports18-year-old Bosnian talent Kerim Alajbegovic is set to leave Bayer Leverkusen for a transfer fee exceeding €35 million, making him the most expensive 18-year-old sold by a German club and a Bundesliga record for a player with no top-flight appearances. Chelsea, now managed by former Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso, offered up to €40 million but planned to loan him out. Juventus countered with over €35 million including bonuses and promised him a playmaker role. Alajbegovic, who developed at Leverkusen's academy and impressed on loan at Red Bull Salzburg, submitted a transfer request due to tactical misfit under new coach Carles Martínez. The deal highlights Leverkusen's 'Future Team' project of developing top talents for profit. His younger brother Emre, 13, is also a highly sought prospect at the club.
