Carín León leads 2026 Premios Juventud nominations

Mexican singer-songwriter Carín León tops the nominations for this year's Premios Juventud with nine nods, ahead of the show's first-ever edition in Europe, airing live from Marbella, Spain, on September 3.

The Regional Mexican music star is followed by Beéle, Kany García, and Rauw Alejandro, each with seven nominations. Eladio Carrión, Farruko, Karol G, Manuel Turizo, Ovy On The Drums, Quevedo, Romeo Santos, Shakira, and Xavi each received six nominations.

TelevisaUnivision unveiled the full nominee slate today alongside new details about PJ Fest, a weeklong cultural experience with Premios Juventud as its marquee event. The announcement builds on plans first revealed at the network's Upfronts in May, filling in details on nominees and a broader festival concept reshaping the franchise.

A New Category for Spain as Fan Voting Begins

This year's edition introduces the "Creator de España" category for the first time, recognizing Spanish digital talent. The addition reflects the show's expanding footprint and its effort to highlight the cultural exchange between Spain and Latin America.

Voting is open now through August 10 at PremiosJuventud.com, where fans choose winners across 50 categories spanning music, television, streaming, and digital content. As with previous editions, fans exclusively determine the winners.

PJ Fest: Six Days, Four Cities

The 2026 edition marks a structural shift for the franchise. Premios Juventud is no longer a single-night event. It now anchors PJ Fest, a six-day cultural experience spanning Miami, Houston, Los Angeles, and Marbella, with concerts, brand activations, and original content leading up to the main show.

Here is how the week breaks down:

• Aug. 29: PJ Fest kicks off in Miami with Bresh Party.
• Aug. 30: Houston hosts "El Bueno, La Mala y El Feo Fest," a night dedicated to fans of Mexican music, streaming on ViX, YouTube, and Facebook.
• Aug. 31: Jay Wheeler headlines an exclusive private concert in Miami, available on ViX, YouTube, and Facebook.
• Sept. 1: Piso 21 headlines an exclusive Los Angeles event, available on ViX, YouTube, and Facebook.
• Sept. 2: ViX Música Sessions features Morat alongside Calle y Poché, airing on ViX, Univision, and YouTube.
• Sept. 3: Premios Juventud airs live from the Starlite Auditorium in Marbella.

Premios Juventud's Second Year Abroad

Last year's 22nd edition already broke new ground as the first Premios Juventud held outside the U.S., airing from Panama City and setting records with a 58% year-over-year increase in engagement and more than 450 million total interactions across platforms.

The Marbella move extends that international expansion, following a path similar to the Latin Grammys, which made their own historic shift to Sevilla in 2023.

Hosts, performers, and additional honorees for the Marbella ceremony are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

The broadcast will air on Univision, UNIMÁS, Galavisión, and ViX at 7 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. CT, with Canal 5 carrying the show in Mexico at 5 p.m.
