Last weekend, alongside the 8th of nine regular season Major League Pickleball events, three international competitions took place across the globe. Here is a recap of the results, winners, upsets, and standout players.
The PPA and APP's international arms were both in action, with Asia-based pros competing in either Malaysia or Singapore, while the PPA held its first-ever European pro stop.
2026 PPA Asia 500 Leapmotor Singapore Open
PPA-Asia hosted a 500-level event in Singapore, offering a significant point total for the region (worth half as much as a regular tour stop). View the draws here.
- Men's Doubles: Collin Johns & Len Yang claimed their third medal (and second gold) together on the PPA Asia circuit since May, winning a three-game final over Hien Truong & Kenta Miyoshi.
- Men's Singles: Hong Kit Wong ("Jack") won his third Men's Singles gold medal in the last four international PPA events, defeating US-based Adam Harvey in the final. Wong medaled in all three disciplines for the weekend.
- Women's Singles: Yufie Long took the gold over Annie Xie.
- Women's Doubles: Yufie Long teamed up with Hong Kong-based Kara Wheatley for the gold.
- Mixed Doubles: 16-year-old Atlanta-based Jaeda Minniefield partnered with Vietnam's Luc Pham to claim the Mixed pro title. Minniefield holds several PPA Challenger medals but secured a significant title here.
2026 Leapmotor APP Penang Open
The sixth event of the 2026 APP-GSP international series was held in Penang, marking the tour's second visit to Malaysia this year. View the draws here.
- Men's Singles: Quang Duong took the title over 15-year-old rising star Phoenix He (China), a former table tennis phenom.
- Men's Doubles: Duong partnered with Harsh Mehta to defeat top seeds Munro & Schenk, repeating their gold-medal performance from Ho Chi Minh City.
- Mixed Doubles: Duong fell in the Mixed pro finals (8, 0, 0) to Jack Munro & Roos van Reek, after a spirited run that included a win over top seeds Fudge & Schenk.
- Women's Singles: 3rd-seeded Roos van Reek defeated 4th-seeded Yu-chieh Hsieh, with both top seeds (Hendry and Bates) eliminated early.
- Women's Doubles: Van Reek paired with Vivian Glozman to take the doubles crown, repeating their feat from a month ago in Vietnam.
This marks van Reek's second career pro triple crown, having achieved the same feat a month ago with the same partners at the 2026 Pickleball Djoy Tour Event 2: BIDV Cup in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
2026 Portoroz Italy 125
The inaugural event of the PPA's new Italian series kicked off last weekend in Portoroz, Slovenia—located on its western coast across the Adriatic Sea from Venice. The starter event was valued at 1/8th of a typical PPA event, awarding 125 points to bracket winners. The tournament drew mostly European players, with several familiar names on the podiums.
- Men's Doubles: Louis Laville (England) & Tom Protzek (Germany) teamed up to take the title.
- Men's Singles: Top Hungarian pro Balint Bako defeated Spaniard Josep "Pep" Canyadell, who had just competed in Grand Rapids with Team Europe in the mid-season event.
- Women's Doubles: Claudia Caymel Romero & Katie Morris (UK) took the gold.
- Women's Singles: Sabrina Mendez Dominguez won a smaller draw.
- Mixed Doubles: Katie Morris secured the "double double" for the weekend, winning with Ben Cawston.
The Medal Tracker has been updated. Visit the "PPA Int’l" tab for a complete list of prior medal winners at all PPA Asia and PPA Australia events.
