Corient, the Miami-based registered investment advisor (RIA) owned by Mubadala Investment Company, has acquired Seven Bridges Advisors, a New York-based RIA with $4.9 billion in assets under management.
Seven Bridges was founded in 2011 by Larry Cohen as a multi-family office and wealth manager. The firm has six partners, who will become partners of Corient once the deal closes. The RIA focuses on serving entrepreneurs and founders, financial services executives, and ultra-high-net-worth families.
"What drew us to Corient was its partnership structure, which puts collaboration first and gives every client access to the collective expertise of the firm," Cohen said in a statement. "This model—unique in wealth management—combined with the quality and breadth of services offered by Corient, significantly enhances what we can deliver to clients."
Corient now has more than 300 partners and over 2,700 employees across approximately $535 billion in assets globally.
The firm was founded in 2020 as the RIA arm of Toronto-based investment and wealth manager CI Financial. That firm was taken private in 2024 in a deal led by Mubadala Capital, an alternative asset manager owned by Mubadala Investment Co., an Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund.
Since being taken private, Corient has been on a streak of large acquisitions both in the United States and the United Kingdom:
- April 2026: Announced a move to acquire Bedrock Group, a $10.7 billion wealth manager with offices in Geneva, London, Monaco, and Lisbon.
- Shortly prior: Acquired Chicago-based employee-owned wealth manager Vivaldi Capital, which has $5.6 billion in AUM.
