SportsInter Miami forward German Berterame is conscious and recovering in hospital after suffering a severe head collision during Saturday's MLS match against Montreal. In the 70th minute at Saputo Stadium, Berterame collided aerially with Montreal defender Efrain Morales and landed awkwardly, appearing to lose consciousness. Players from both teams immediately called for medical attention. After several minutes of treatment, Berterame was stretchered off and taken to hospital. Coach Guillermo Hoyos confirmed the player is conscious and his family is aware. Hoyos noted an elbow was involved, leading to a penalty that Luis Suarez converted, holding up Berterame's shirt in tribute. The 27-year-old Mexico international has scored seven MLS goals since joining from Monterrey in January. Inter Miami's victory was their sixth consecutive win, placing them second in the Eastern Conference.
