Samsung launched its eighth-generation foldable smartphones, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Z Fold 8, and Z Flip 8, in India on July 22, 2026. Additionally, Samsung launched the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Watch 9, both powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear Elite processors.

Samsung on Wednesday (July 22, 2026) launched the eighth generation of its foldable phone lineup in India, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Flip 8. This marks the first time the South Korean company has introduced an Ultra variant in its foldable portfolio. The launch also included the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Watch 9.
The Galaxy Z8 series phones run on One UI 9, based on Android 17, out of the box. Samsung has committed to providing 7 years of OS updates and 7 years of security updates for these devices.
According to Samsung, Indian users are increasingly using foldables for content consumption, productivity enhancement through AI, and camera capabilities.
In terms of design, Samsung has adopted a flex titanium plate construction for the foldable phones.
