Source report
Raúl Sánchez (born November 8, 1997) was one of the first signings of the Haralabos Voulgaris era four years ago. Since then, he has been more than a participant in a project that has grown by leaps and bounds. He endured the disappointment of not being promoted with Alcorcón, experienced the spectacular promotion in the 2023/24 season, and played a vital role in survival the following season.
Last season, he moved to Mexican football to play for Necaxa, but returned in December to a club that has left a lasting mark on him. Although he did not have the impact of previous years, he is now ready to regain his best form.
An Important Goal for Him
Sánchez was one of the standout performers in the friendly against Valencia, scoring a great goal. He received the ball in the area, turned, and struck with his left foot in a difficult move that came off perfectly, sending the ball into the far post.
"Yes, I'm very happy and I needed it. After over a year without scoring a goal, I needed to feel this sensation of being able to score, and what better way than to do it with the team's victory," he acknowledged, proud of his performance.
His Return Was Not Easy
The versatile player admits that last season he could not perform at the level he expected. His arrival in the winter transfer market, with the team already in full competitive rhythm, complicated his adaptation.
"When you arrive at Christmas, you know it's difficult to adapt to the team's pace, but now we all start from scratch, and I'll do everything I can to be at one hundred percent and compete," he detailed with excitement.
Ambitious This Season
Sánchez noted that the team has not yet discussed the objective for next season in the locker room, but he showed clear ambition.
"We're going to try to be as high up as possible and try to achieve that promotion that we just missed out on last season. The league is very long, and we'll try to be there and fight for it," he elaborated.

Finally, he praised the team's strong performance against Valencia and downplayed the two final scuffles during the match.
"This is our football, trying to create as many chances as possible. We felt comfortable, and it showed. They are moments of the match, the tension, and once it's over, we are all colleagues in football," he concluded.
