MoU Signed
The Department of English and the Centre for ENGAGE (English for Global and Advanced Excellence) at Kalasalingam University organised the Communication Exposure and Capacity Building Programme-2026.
Vice-President S. Shasi Anand presided over the event. Vice-Chancellor S. Narayanan and Registrar V. Vasudevan felicitated the gathering. Dean of the School of Liberal Arts and Special Education, V. Pandiarajan, inaugurated the programme, while Head of the Department of English and Centre Convenor, B.R. Aravind, delivered the welcome address.
The university also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the IIDRT Institute, Sri Lanka, for an international communication exchange programme. Director of the IIDRT Institute, D.A.W. Gunavardana, Programme Coordinator I.N.P. Perera, and Director Upul Weerasinghe, among others, were present.
Guest Lecture
The Department of Commerce at SFR College for Women organised a guest lecture on "Develop Your Web Designing Skills for Project." Head-in-charge of the Department of Commerce, K.J. Sunmista, delivered the welcome address.
Founder and Digital Consultant at Pragathi Cyberion, Sivakasi, S. Dhanalakshmi, delivered a lecture on the fundamentals of web design using HTML.
Assistant Professor of Commerce K. Sounthara Priya proposed a vote of thanks. Approximately 70 students participated in the programme.
Wins Medals
Class XII student R. Jai Jashwanth of Theni Melapettai Hindu Nadar Uravinmurai (T.M.H.N.U.) Matriculation Higher Secondary School won one gold, one silver, and one bronze medal at the Tamil Nadu State Aquatic Championship-2026.
President A.S.G. Dharmarajan, Vice-president A.S. Jeevagan, General Secretary M.M. Anandavel, Treasurer B. Ramachandran, Secretary V.M.K. Ravindren, Joint Secretaries S.A. Sankar and A.A.T.N.G. Arunchunaikani, and the principal extended their appreciation. District Collector R. Vaithiya Nathan also congratulated the student.
Seminar Held
Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, in association with G.T.N. Arts College, the Indian Tyre Technical Advisory Committee (ITTAC), and Vaigai Trust, organised a seminar on "Road and Tyre Safety."
MLA of Nilakottai, R. Ayyanar, inaugurated the event. District Youth Officer of My Bharat-Dindigul, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, E. Sivashanmugam, served as the guest of honour.
Associate Professor (Retd.) M. Muruganandam delivered the welcome address. Principal P. Ravichandran presided over the session. Secretary and Chairman K. Rethinam and Director R. Durai Rethinam felicitated the gathering.
Regional Service Manager for Tamil Nadu, JK Tyre & Industries Ltd., J. Muhammad, and Territory Manager-Customer Service K. Karunakaran delivered technical sessions on road safety and tyre maintenance. More than 1,000 students participated.
Awareness Programme
The Department of Economics and Centre for Research at Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College organised a training programme on Census 2027 self-enumeration.
Head of the Postgraduate Department of Economics, R. Kalirajan, delivered the welcome address, while Head of the Undergraduate Department of Economics, K. Sundaram, presided over the event.
Statistical Inspector of Srivilliputhur Block, R. Ganesan, provided hands-on training on filling the 33-question self-enumeration form. Principal C. Ashok inaugurated the programme.
Approximately 200 student-volunteers participated.
Athletic Meet
T.K. Linga Global School, Krishnankoil, organised its 12th Annual Athletic Meet.
