Turkish Süper Lig champions Galatasaray have released an official statement denying recent rumors that they had reached an agreement with Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala and the German club for a loan or transfer. The rumors, which originated from Turkish daily Hürriyet about a week ago, claimed Musiala had been offered to Galatasaray. The 23-year-old German international, who has 46 caps and scored at the World Cup, is under contract with Bayern until 2030. Musiala missed the first half of the 2025-26 season due to a fibula fracture and underwent surgery after the World Cup to remove a metal plate from his left foot. He is set to join Bayern's Asia tour in August. Bayern recently signed Ismael Saibari for €50 million, adding competition in attacking midfield, but the club and player have no plans to separate this summer.

Istanbul/Munich – Rumors about a transfer of Jamal Musiala (23) have become increasingly wild in recent days. About a week ago, the Turkish daily newspaper Hürriyet reported that Musiala had been offered to the Turkish record champions for a loan deal. Numerous media outlets jumped on the rumor train – but the report turned out to be a complete hoax. Now Galatasaray has even published an official statement.
Galatasaray Reacts to Musiala Rumors
Through several Turkish media outlets, Galatasaray spread the word on Sunday evening:
"The report that our club has reached an agreement with Jamal Musiala and FC Bayern Munich does not correspond to the truth. This is for the information of the public."
In the meantime, there had been talk of advanced negotiations between Musiala and Galatasaray.

The fact that the Turkish champions are speaking out publicly is quite an unusual occurrence. Such transfer reports have now become a firm part of sports coverage.
Musiala's contract with FC Bayern runs until 2030, and neither the club nor the player is planning a separation this summer. After his fibula fracture last summer, Musiala missed the entire first half of the season. Since his comeback in January, the offensive star has only shown his exceptional talent sporadically.

Shortly after the disappointing World Cup (elimination in the round of 32 against Paraguay), Musiala underwent surgery. During this, a metal plate was removed from his left foot. Musiala will only join the Bayern summer preparations during the Asia tour through South Korea and Hong Kong (August 1 to 8). The season for the Munich team starts on August 22 with the Supercup against Borussia Dortmund.
What is clear: Musiala has received new competition in the attacking center through the signing of Ismael Saibari (25, for €50 million from Eindhoven). But it is also clear that Musiala leaving Bayern for Istanbul because of this – or any other reason – is completely unfounded, just as communicated by Galatasaray.
