FinanceJapanese retail conglomerate Seven & i Holdings has terminated discussions regarding a potential investment in Zabka Group, Poland's largest convenience store operator. The proposed deal would have involved acquiring a significant minority stake worth several hundred billion yen. Seven & i cited an inability to agree on terms that serve the best interests of shareholders and stakeholders. Zabka, founded in 1998, operates 10,000 franchised stores in Poland and reported revenue of 27.15 billion zlotys ($7.16 billion) for the year ending December 2025. The investment would have given Seven & i a foothold in Eastern Europe as part of its goal to expand its global convenience store network from 87,000 to 100,000 outlets by 2030. Despite the collapse, Seven & i stated Europe remains an attractive growth opportunity and it will continue evaluating regional opportunities. Separately, the company appointed Mauricio Leyva as CEO of its North American 7-Eleven arm, effective August 1, 2026.
