In the final of the WTA 250 tournament in her hometown, the 31-year-old impressively defeated Hungary's Anna Bondar 6:3, 6:3, following in the footsteps of Steffi Graf. The tennis legend had secured the last German triumph at Rothenbaum in 1992.
Korpatsch received €32,520 in prize money for her second title on the WTA Tour and made a significant leap in the world rankings, entering the top 50 for the first time in her career.

The Hamburg native started the match highly focused and quickly took a 3-0 lead on the well-attended Centre Court. Although Bondar reduced the deficit to 3-4 after a break, Korpatsch immediately broke back and shortly after won the set. In the second set, Korpatsch broke her opponent's serve to make it 3-2 and then converted her first match point in the ninth game to secure a celebrated victory.
