During Schalke 04's traditional Blue-White Night at their training camp in Neustift, Austria, sports director Frank Baumann (50) endeared himself to fans by buying a round of beer for the remaining 25 supporters at the local pub 'Dorfwirt' shortly before closing time at 1:30 AM. The event, held on the last evening of the camp, saw players leave after about half an hour, but Baumann, along with transfer director Max Lüftl, board boss Matthias Tillmann, and football director Youri Mulder, stayed late to chat, sign autographs, and take selfies. Baumann, who is also working on a deal to sign veteran striker Edin Dzeko (40), personally treated the fans to wheat beer, costing just under 100 euros. The stage program was initially canceled due to thunderstorm concerns, but the weather improved, though many fans had already left. The club offered an additional autograph session the next morning as compensation.

This is how you make yourself even more popular than you already are! Sports director Frank Baumann (50) buys Schalke fans a round at the local pub.
On the last evening of the training camp, Königsblau traditionally holds the Blue-White Night. Officials and players come to the fans to spend time with them. This was also the case on Saturday evening in Neustift in the Stubai Valley (Austria).
While the team left again after a good half hour shortly before 10 p.m., the bosses stayed much longer — Baumann, transfer director Max Lüftl (31), board boss Matthias Tillmann (42), and football director Youri Mulder (57). Almost continuously, a crowd gathered around each one — a chat here, an autograph there, and of course countless selfies.
Baumann: First Dzeko, Then a Round at the Pub
King of the night: clearly Baumann! While he works on the deal with Edin Dzeko (40) during the day (BILD reported), he also makes himself popular after work. At the local restaurant "Dorfwirt," the Schalke maker stays until the bitter end. What's more: Shortly before closing time, at 1:30 a.m., Baumann buys a round for all 25 remaining fans and treats himself to a tasty wheat beer.
Beer for everyone, and personally from Baumann — certainly a nice anecdote for the supporters. The round cost the long-time Bremen man just under 100 euros. At 2 a.m., it's time to call it a night.
Annoying: Initially, the stage program of the Schalke evening was canceled due to concerns about thunderstorms, but because the weather improved, the team still came. However, many fans had already returned to their accommodation. As "compensation," the club offered an additional autograph session after the final training session on Sunday morning. At least for the 25 Schalke night owls, no further compensation was definitely needed.
