OtherCol. Christine Littlejohn has made history by assuming command of the 99th Air Base Wing at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, becoming the first woman to lead the unit in its history. She took over from Col. Jason Glynn during a ceremony on July 17, 2026. The 99th Air Base Wing oversees 12 squadrons and two groups responsible for base operations support, serving over 10,000 personnel. Littlejohn previously commanded the 502nd Installation Support Group at Joint Base San Antonio and has supported combat deployments including Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, and Inherent Resolve. A Nellis spokesperson emphasized that commanders are selected strictly on merit. Littlejohn's predecessor, Col. Glynn, led the base through a government shutdown, civilian workforce restructuring, and security incidents during his two-year tenure.
