OtherThe U.S. Navy Reserve announced a new bonus program offering up to $20,000 for enlisted sailors and up to $12,000 annually for officers as part of the fiscal 2026/2027 Recruiting and Retention Incentive Program, effective June 1, 2026. The program includes multiple bonus categories: New Accession Training Enlistment Bonus for new recruits, Reserve Component Affiliation Bonus for active-duty sailors transitioning to reserve, Prior Service Reenlistment Bonus for former service members, and Selective Retention Bonus for critical-skill reenlistments. Officers can receive affiliation bonuses up to $10,000, direct commission accession bonuses of $12,000, and retention bonuses up to $12,000 annually for three years. The initiative follows the Navy's successful recruiting turnaround after missing its fiscal 2023 goal, achieving 44,096 new accessions in fiscal 2025 and hitting its fiscal 2026 goal of 45,000 three months early.
