SportsOlympique Lyonnais has secured a one-season loan deal for Juventus forward Loïs Openda, paying a €3 million loan fee with no purchase option included. The 26-year-old Belgian striker, who struggled at Juventus with only 2 goals in 34 appearances last season, will have most of his €8 million gross annual salary covered by the Serie A club. Lyon, facing financial constraints that prevent permanent transfers, turned to Openda after failing to sign Endrick and as they urgently need a center forward ahead of Champions League qualifiers against Sparta Prague. Openda insisted on joining Lyon despite Juventus preferring a Premier League loan. He hopes to rediscover the form he showed at Lens and Leipzig between 2022 and 2024. Lyon will pay a small portion of his salary for the season.
