Great Dane has appointed Eddie Martin as Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, effective August 3, the company announced in a press release.
Martin’s appointment strengthens the executive ranks of the Chicago-based, privately-held OEM as several key leaders retire this year, including President and COO Rick Mullininx, who is set to retire on December 31.
According to the release, Martin will lead Great Dane’s commercial strategy and sales organization, overseeing revenue growth efforts and opportunities to strengthen customer relationships.
Interim CEO Mel Cohen stated that Martin’s strategic experience, commercial expertise, and proven leadership will be instrumental in building on Great Dane’s momentum.
“His track record of driving growth and developing high-performing teams makes him an outstanding addition to our leadership team,” Cohen said in the July 13 announcement.
Martin brings more than three decades of leadership experience in the manufacturing and industrial markets. His most recent role was Senior Vice President of Sales at promotional product supplier PCNA, where he led sales initiatives and strengthened the company’s business performance.
Martin has also served as:
- Chief Commercial Officer for GE Industrial Services
- Chief Marketing Officer for GE Appliances
- President at packaging company WestRock
Great Dane, a manufacturer of dry van and flatbed trailers and refrigerated truck bodies, appointed Cohen—a long-time company advisory board member—as interim CEO in May. The company followed that appointment by naming Diana Yan as EVP and CFO in June. Yan will succeed EVP and CFO Jim Petrarca, who is retiring on October 1.
Mullininx, whose retirement was announced last September, is also assisting with key strategic company projects and aiding in the search and selection of a permanent CEO. According to the company, as of early May, the CEO search remains ongoing.
