Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 teaser: Simon Pegg joins cast as Middle-earth goes to war

The teaser for the upcoming third season of Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power was unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con on July 24. Actor Simon Pegg has joined the cast, voicing the character Balrog.

The new season also introduces several new characters:

• Eddie Marsan as Thrain
• Andrew Richardson as Anarion
• Adam Young as Marnûkh

The teaser offers a glimpse into the show’s darker tone as Middle-earth goes to war. Five years have passed since the fall of Eregion, and the Dark Lord Sauron’s armies have marched across the world. Sauron plans to forge the One Ring, while the free peoples of Middle-earth — Dwarves, Elves, Men, and Wizards — attempt to unite to prevent him from dominating all.

The new season promises to be a thrilling, action-packed follow-up, set five years after the events of the previous season.

The series stars Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Owain Arthur, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Charlie Vickers, and Daniel Weyman in pivotal roles. It is produced by showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, alongside executive producers Lindsey Weber, Justin Doble, Kate Hazell, and executive producer-director Charlotte Brändström. Matthew Penry-Davey serves as producer, with Ally O’Leary, Tim Keene, and Andrew Lee as co-producers.

Release Schedule

The first four episodes of Season Three of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will premiere on November 11, 2026. Episodes 305 and 306 will be available to stream on November 18, and the final two episodes of the season will be released on November 25.
