Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle gets simultaneous PVOD and SVOD release on July 28

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle is set to arrive on streaming this week in an unusual move, as the anime blockbuster will debut simultaneously on premium video on demand (PVOD) and streaming video on demand (SVOD).

The simultaneous streaming release for the film, also known as Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, marks the latest surprise move for the Sony Pictures Entertainment/Crunchyroll feature, which premiered in Japan over a year ago. Directed by Hikaru Kondô and Haruo Sotozaki, the film premiered in Japan on July 18, 2025, while the English dub arrived in North American theaters on September 12.

Rated R, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle follows Tanjiro, Nezuko, and the Hashira into the Infinity Castle, where the Demon Slayer Corps must face the Upper Rank demons to begin the final battle against Muzan Kibutsuji.

While SPE/Crunchyroll releases typically debut on Sony's Crunchyroll streaming platform about five months after their theatrical premieres, the studios held back on the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle home entertainment release.

Instead, the film returned to theaters in Japan for the first time in IMAX format on February 6, but only played in two venues: the Grand Cinema Sunshine in Tokyo and 109 Cinemas Osaka Expo City in Osaka.

Then, a month later on March 6, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle returned to theaters in the U.S. and Canada, but was only available in SCREENX theaters, which project the film not only on the main screen but also on the side walls of the venue.

Viewers Can Catch 'Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle' on Digital or Watch on Crunchyroll Beginning Tuesday

After the long wait, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle will be available to watch at home in the U.S. on Tuesday, July 28, with a simultaneous release on digital video via PVOD on digital platforms and SVOD on Crunchyroll.

A new listing on Prime Video confirms that the English dub of the film will be available for digital purchase on Tuesday for $19.99, and will also be available on Apple TV and Fandango at Home. While the digital rental price is not listed, rentals are generally $5 less than purchase prices, so viewers can expect to rent the film for 48 hours for $14.99.

Also on Tuesday, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle will begin streaming on Crunchyroll for subscribers. Three subscription packages are available:

• Fan Tier: $9.99 per month — offers access to Crunchyroll's library
• Mega-Fan Tier: $13.99 per month — allows streaming on up to four devices at a time
• Ultimate Fan Tier: $17.99 per month — allows streaming on up to six devices at a time, includes offline viewing capabilities, and offers access to the Crunchyroll Game Vault, which includes free games and other premiums
