Col. Christine Littlejohn made history by becoming the first female commander of the 99th Air Base Wing at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, during a ceremony on July 17, 2026. She now leads 12 squadrons and two groups responsible for base operations support. Littlejohn previously commanded the 502nd Installation Support Group at Joint Base San Antonio and has served in strategic roles across multiple major commands, supporting combat deployments including Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, and Inherent Resolve. She succeeded Col. Jason Glynn, who led the wing for two years through a government shutdown, civilian workforce restructuring, and security incidents. The 99th Air Base Wing supports over 10,000 personnel assigned to the Air Force Warfare Center and 52 tenant units, providing installation support for training in air, space, and cyberspace.
