TechSchnuck Markets announced on July 23, 2026, that it will launch an artificial-intelligence-powered agentic shopping assistant for customers later this summer. Developed in partnership with VitalityIP, an AI-powered digital nutrition guidance platform, the tool will be available on Schnucks' app and website. The AI assistant provides personalized nutrition guidance, meal ideas, and product recommendations aligned with health and lifestyle goals such as weight management, healthy aging, recovery, and family wellness. Schnucks Chief Data and Information Officer Tom Henry stated the tool addresses customer demand for trusted guidance in meal planning, health tracking, dietary needs, budgeting, and kitchen inspiration. The platform's intelligence is based on over 6 billion lines of shopping, health, and nutrition data, co-developed using Schnucks' customer and store inventory data. Schnucks maintains ownership of customer relationships, shopper data, and brand experience. The grocer joins a growing list of retailers including Albertsons, Kroger, Uber, DoorDash, and Associated Wholesale Grocers that have recently introduced AI-powered shopping assistants.
