The red-and-white preseason is now set. All matches that Simeone's team will play have been confirmed, with details of Atlético's tour across multiple locations worldwide, where they will face several of Europe's top clubs.
Atlético's preseason will officially begin behind closed doors, as was the case last year. Similar to the previous preseason, the red-and-whites will face off at Cerro against a Madrid-based team—this time, Getafe. From there, the squad will embark on a tour through Europe and Asia to prepare for a long and exciting season.
Tour Through Europe and Asia
The first major match will take place in August, on the first day of the month, in Sweden. Simeone's men will face Manchester United at the Strawberry Arena at 3:00 PM. Following that, Atlético will head to Korea to take on the other Manchester side.
Atlético will test Maresca's new project at the helm of Manchester City in Seoul. The kickoff time is yet to be confirmed, and the match will be part of the Coupang Play Series.
Finally, the red-and-white team will return to Europe to close the preseason in France against Olympique de Marseille. The French side will host the Spaniards at their stadium, the CEPAC Vélodrome, at 5:30 PM, before Atlético returns to Madrid to start LaLiga against Málaga at the Metropolitano.
