SportsManchester United have officially added 15-year-old academy prodigy JJ Gabriel to the first-team squad for the 2026/27 season, marking a major milestone in his rapid rise. Gabriel, who joined United in 2022 after stints at Chelsea, Arsenal, and West Ham, was the Under-18s' leading scorer last season with 26 goals and 4 assists in 28 appearances, earning the Under-18 Premier League Player of the Season award. Manager Michael Carrick confirmed Gabriel will feature in pre-season friendlies, including against Rosenborg. Previously, Premier League age restrictions prevented Gabriel from making a senior debut, but those barriers are now removed. The teenager is widely seen as the next potential homegrown star at Old Trafford.
