Second time was the charm. CD Castellón has secured its new offensive talent. The albinegro club officially announced this Friday the signing of Antonio Gala, a 22-year-old Italian attacking midfielder who joins from Campobasso FC and has signed with the club until June 30, 2030.
The signing had been an open secret since last Tuesday, when Campobasso itself published an agreement on its website regarding the player's departure to Castellón, before later removing the information. Although not officially confirmed until now, the operation was on track and has finally been completed, bringing in one of the most promising players on the market for Castellón's 2026/27 project.
Neapolitan Roots and Milan Training
Born in Naples on June 7, 2004, Antonio Gala arrives in Castelló after an excellent season in the Italian Serie C. With Campobasso, he finished the season in fourth place, playing a key role with seven goals and ten assists.
The new albinegro player also boasts top-level training. Gala progressed through the youth categories of AC Milan, where he played eleven UEFA Youth League matches and was called up to the rossonero first team for the Champions League.
After his time in the Milan youth academy, he began his professional career with a loan to Sestri Levante (also in Serie C), before moving through Calcio Foggia and eventually landing at Campobasso, where he fully developed his offensive qualities.
Gala is a versatile player who can operate as an attacking midfielder, though he is also capable of playing on the wings. His mobility, ability to drive forward, and particularly his final pass and finishing are among his main strengths.
Crowded Attacking Zone
Castellón's offensive area is currently well-stocked, with the following players available:
- Mabil
- Suero
- Iñigo Córdoba
- Álvaro Martín
- Rodrigo Rego
- Fran Castillo
- Bellari
- Pablo Santiago
- Raúl Sánchez
- Jakobsen (who can also play on the left wing)
With this signing, Castellón adds a young footballer with room for growth and experience in competitive Italian football, who arrives at Castalia with the aim of becoming a key piece in the club's new project.
