Reform UK Shadow Chancellor Robert Jenrick has been branded a 'liar and a fraud' after deleting a tweet that featured doctored audio misrepresenting Labour MP Jo White's comments on immigration. Jenrick falsely claimed White said 'I don't care if we stop the boats' at a public meeting. White, the newly appointed immigration minister under Prime Minister Andy Burnham, released the full audio proving she said: 'I don't care who will stop the boats. My number one priority is to stop those boats.' White's husband and predecessor, John Mann, accused Jenrick of knowingly spreading a fabricated quote for a year. Reform UK also deleted its version of the tweet. Jenrick has been contacted for comment but has not yet responded.

Reform UK's Shadow Chancellor forced to delete tweet after misrepresenting Jo White's comments on immigration
Robert Jenrick has been branded "a liar and a fraud" after being forced to delete a tweet featuring doctored audio that misrepresented the views of a Labour MP.
The Reform UK MP falsely claimed that Jo White told a public meeting: "I don't care if we stop the boats," referring to asylum seekers crossing the English Channel from France.
White, the MP for Bassetlaw and head of Labour's Red Wall caucus of MPs, was recently appointed immigration minister by new Prime Minister Andy Burnham.
In his post containing what he claimed were White's comments, Jenrick wrote:
"Meet the new immigration minister. Burnham clearly doesn't give a stuff about stopping the boats. We need a general election."
White Releases Full Audio
A furious White later released the actual audio from the meeting, in which she can clearly be heard saying:
"My focus is to make sure that we stop those boats. I don't care who will stop the boats. My number one priority is to stop those boats."
In a statement, White said:
"Robert Jenrick is spreading a false account of what I said at a meeting with my constituents last year. This recording proves what I said.
>
"Reform have deliberately twisted my words to mislead the public. They should withdraw their false claim and immediately apologise."
Further Condemnation
White's husband and predecessor as Bassetlaw MP, John Mann, posted on X:
"Jenrick is a liar and a fraud. He knows this is a made up doctored quote. He has been aware of this for the last year.
>
"As the meeting organiser stated at the time, what Jo said was I will do anything I can to stop the boats."
Reform UK has also deleted a tweet it posted featuring the doctored audio.
Jenrick has been contacted for comment.
