FinanceSamsung Electronics America is restructuring its U.S. operations, cutting jobs and relocating its North American headquarters from Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey to Plano, Texas. A Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice filed in New Jersey covers 739 employees at facilities in Englewood Cliffs and Berkeley Heights. Terminations are expected to begin September 30 and continue through October 14. The company cited 'transfer of operations' and an organizational realignment as reasons. Some employees are being offered relocation to the same position in Texas; those not offered or who decline will be terminated. The move comes less than a year after Samsung opened its new New Jersey headquarters in September 2025, replacing a long-time base in Ridgefield Park. Samsung says the shift aims to improve collaboration, support AI and emerging tech innovation, and create operational synergies under a 'One Samsung' strategy.
