JUANCAR NAVACERRADA Updated: 22/07/2026 - 22:53 CEST
Getafe secured victory in their second preseason test, coming from behind to beat Tenerife and claim the Trofeo Ciudad de Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The team from the south of the Community of Madrid turned the match around in the second half after the hosts had taken the lead.
Lineup Heavy on Reserve Players
Getafe arrived at the Heliodoro with a lineup featuring six reserve team players — all members of the squad coached by Manu del Moral. Among them was Mady Macalou, whose signing had been announced just hours before kickoff.
First Half: Tenerife Strikes First
After a cagey opening 30 minutes with only tentative approaches from both sides, Tenerife broke the deadlock in the 38th minute. Víctor Moreno collected a ball from the flank and finished with his left foot, close to the post and beyond the reach of goalkeeper Diego Ferrer.
Getafe attempted to respond:
- Isma Bekhoucha fired a shot over the bar.
- Alberto Risco had a goal disallowed for offside after a fine pass from Ramón Terrats.
Second Half: Getafe Turns the Tide
Bordalás made six changes at the break, introducing Uche, Zaid Romero, and Satriano among others, which lifted the team's quality.
Martín Satriano leveled the score in the 53rd minute from the penalty spot after a foul by the Tenerife defense.
With just one minute left on the clock, Getafe completed the comeback. Kiko Femenía delivered a corner that Zaid Romero headed into the Tenerife goal to make it 1-2.
The victory gives Getafe two wins from their preseason fixtures so far, following their earlier result against Reading. The Madrid side will face Real Valladolid on Saturday in Las Rozas.
