SportsHamburger SV (HSV) has signed Zambian international striker Patson Daka on a free transfer. The 27-year-old former Leicester City and Red Bull Salzburg forward arrived at the team's training camp in Tyrol on Tuesday evening, checking into the 'Aqua Dome' hotel. Daka signed a contract until summer 2027 with an option for a second season, which HSV can trigger if both sides are satisfied with his sporting development; otherwise, the parties part ways after one year with no financial obligations. HSV sporting director Claus Costa praised Daka's energy, speed, pressing intensity, and transition play abilities, while sporting director Kathleen Krüger highlighted his commitment, team-first mentality, and international experience. Daka, a four-time Austrian Bundesliga champion and 2020/21 top scorer, expressed his passion for scoring goals and said the overall package made the decision easy. He is expected to join his new teammates for training on Wednesday morning.
