SportsFrench international forward Melvine Malard has officially signed for Chelsea from Manchester United on a four-year contract, announced on Monday. The 26-year-old striker, who has 41 caps and 14 goals for France, spent three seasons at Manchester United, scoring 23 goals and providing 16 assists in 95 appearances, and winning the FA Cup in 2023. The transfer fee is undisclosed but estimated at around €1 million (£850,000) by English media. Malard will reunite with coach Sonia Bompastor, who managed her at Olympique Lyonnais and led the club to the 2022 Champions League title. She will also play alongside compatriot Sandy Baltimore at Chelsea. Malard expressed her ambition to improve daily and win trophies, aligning with Chelsea's goals.
